DA Investigator Transition Course
The District Attorney Investigator Transition Course introduces participants to the unique authority, responsibilities, and expectations of investigators working in a prosecutor’s office. Topics include case development, evidence evaluation, search and seizure, current legal issues, grand jury processes, economic crime and voter fraud investigations, and collaboration with prosecutors from filing decisions through trial preparation. The course also builds practical skills such as witness preparation, working with non-sworn DA staff, documentation, investigator safety, threat assessment, and critical incident response. Designed for DA Investigators of all experience levels, as well as anyone working in an Investigations Unit, this course prepares participants to conduct thorough, legally sound, and prosecutor‑focused investigations.
